College sponsors contest in conjunction with Pine Mtn. gala
Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College personnel from the Whitesburg campus sponsored recently a poster/essay contest as part of the Celebrate Pine Mountain festivities.
Students from Arlie Boggs Elementary School participated in the event. Winners received certificates and monetary prizes and were recognized at a special ceremony with Gov. Ernie Fletcher, U.S. Congressman Hal Rogers and other state and local officials.
The essay contest winner was Felicia Paige Boggs, and the poster contest winners Included Christopher Sturgill, Caleb Sexton, John Hammons and Cody Joe Banks.
All entries were displayed at the Pine Mountain Grille in Whitesburg.
The Celebrate Pine Mountain poster/essay contest committee included SKCTC faculty and staff Ron Brunty, Madeline Gibson, Sandy Holbrook, Kristi Maggard, Melissa Sturgill, Danny Webb and Pricie Young.
