Coleman named to head SKCTC Small Business Center Gone from the area for nearly 30 years, Samuel R. Coleman, Jr., has come home to Middlesboro.
He was eager to return to the area after years of military service and years of working in the petroleum industry; he wanted to make a contribution.
He returns to Bell County as director of the Small Business Development Center at Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College. He is using his expertise to generate business opportunities by helping individuals establish startup companies as well as enhancing existing businesses.
He began his new job at Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College in late autumn, and has hit the ground running as he serves clients in Bell, Harlan, Clay, Knox, Leslie, Letcher and Perry counties in southeast Kentucky.
“It is such a pleasure to be able to come home after many years,” he said. “In my new job I look forward to working with people throughout the area and serving as a counselor to existing and aspiring business owners. Our office will provide short-term customized training for business and industry and offer informational assistance to the members of the small business community.”
Coleman brings to the job, according to Paul Pratt, Southeast’s dean of business and industry, a wealth of experience and limitless enthusiasm to accomplish the task at hand. “We are certainly pleased to have Samuel as a member of our team and look forward to the Small Business Development Center flourishing under his leadership,” he said.
