Faculty Donate Time to Judge Science Fair Faculty from the Middlesboro campus recently lent their skills
serving as judges for the annual Science Fair at Boone Elementary
School in Barbourville. Southeast Professor Sheila Miracle, working
with Rowena Smith, of Boone, enlisted the help of several SKCTC
faculty to judge the event that was held Nov. 18.
Southeast students Brooke Burchfield and Kari Shackleford
judged the kindergarten through second grade entries, while Michael
Rose, clinical laboratory technology instructor from the Pineville
campus, judged grades three through five. Dr. Saeb Omar of the
Middlesboro campus judged grades six through eight.
According to Mrs. Miracle, the science fair was a success as every
student in the school had an entry in the competition.
?The administration of Boone Elementary School was very
appreciative of the support shown by Southeast Kentucky Community
and Technical College in making the event a triumph for the students,?
she said.
