Brenda Morris is Learning for Life Award recipient
Brenda Morris, program director of the Adult Basic Education Program operated by Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College through Kentucky Adult Education, has been awarded the prestigious Learning for Life Award given by KYAE.
Morris, a veteran educator who has enjoyed successful careers in secondary as well as higher education, was one of four award recipients to be awarded the Learning for Life 110 percent award. The award is the highest honor presented by the Kentucky Adult Education consortium and is given for meritorious service or achievement.
The award recognizes program directors, instructors, instructor’s aides and clerks in KYAE-funded programs who have served their communities, students and adult education programs in an outstanding manner.
Morris received the award during the recent KYAE regional conference held in Lexington.
As the head of the SKCTC Adult Basic Education Program, she oversees centers at Cumberland, Whitesburg, Harlan and Middlesboro which are designed to assist college students in their quest for degrees as well as individuals who are seeking their GED.
