Leadership Harlan County is a program dedicated to the development of community leadership, community involvement, and community cooperation in the Harlan County area. The primary focus of Leadership Harlan County United includes a future orientation with an emphasis on involvement. Employing the model used successfully in Leadership Kentucky, Leadership Harlan County United is designed to enhance the future of the region by identifying individuals who have demonstrated a commitment to this community and a potential for leadership; acquainting program participants with issues of leadership and of community structure and operation; providing opportunity for interaction between present and future leaders; and promoting involvement in the community issues and organizations. |
