The Social Sciences and Related Technologies Division of Southeast Community College is a component for educational, community, and
economic development which opens the door to a brighter future.
In partnership with its communities, the Division will continuously study the business, economic, educational, and cultural environments to understand and anticipate local and regional needs, responding with appropriate programs and services. Strategic planning and innovation will empower the Division to create and participate in social and economic change.
The Division will be a partner with its service area, a catalyst for community and economic development and a partner with other community organizations and educational institutions. The Division - through its faculty, staff, and students - will model the role of leader in service.
The Division is committed to providing a diverse student population with a meaningful and marketable education, rooted in a student-centered approach to teaching and learning, and responsive to technological innovation and state-of-the-art teaching methodologies. Additionally, the Division will assure that students will leave the college with the capacity and potential for life-long learning and career success.
The Division, through our students and faculty promotes a strong partnership with public schools and employers to ensure that all students come prepared to succeed and depart with strong options for future growth and development. The division, through our faculty-advisors, works with students to make a successful transition to transfer institutions and/or the workforce. The Division, through its flexible class scheduling and advising, creatively uses its human and financial resources to overcome barriers of distance, fear, poverty, and other constraints to education. It will welcome all and enthusiastically support each one.
