Repeating a Course

A student may repeat a course as many times they feel its necessary to bring their competency up to the levels desired, subject to approval of division chairperson. To exercise a repeat option for the purpose of improving a grade, a course must be repeated with the same grade option as the original enrollment in the course. Before repeating a course, the student must notify in writing the president of the college (or designee) in which the student is enrolled. The highest grade earned in a completed course will be the official grade for the course. If students have been dropped from a technical program, course enrollment is dependent upon readmission to the program. A student may not register in a given term for more than one course bearing the same number, except where such courses have different identifying titles. V.A. regulations stipulate that students receiving V.A. benefits may not receive their benefits for repeating a course in which a satisfactory grade has been given.
