A student enrolling at a Kentucky community or technical college for the first time must file an application for admission. Students who are reentering the community or technical college after being out for one or more semesters must update their admissions records with the admission office. Students may be admitted to a KCTCS college as freshmen, as students with advanced standing from other institutions, as visiting students, or as non-degree students. Kentucky community and technical colleges admit students who have graduated from high school; who have earned a high school general equivalency diploma (GED); or who are eligible to pursue a GED.

- After receiving the completed application and other forms, the admissions office will notify the applicant of his or her admissions status.
- Students are required to take the ACT or Compass Test (Contact Veria "Cookie" Baker ( ) in the Admissions office for test dates, 606-589-2145) prior to enrollment at SKCTC.
