NARRATIVE/JUSTIFICATION FOR JUDGMENT OF COMPLIANCE

By-Laws for both the Kentucky Community and Technical College Board of Regents [1] and the Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College Board of Directors [2] state that a director shall be considered to have a conflict of interest if he or she has existing financial interests that impair such member’s independent, unbiased judgment in the discharge of responsibilities to the college.  Moreover, directors that are aware of a family member or any organization in which a director or family member is an officer, director, employee, member, partner, trustee, or controlling stockholder, shall disclose any possible conflict of interest at the earliest possible time.
