LIST OF PROFESSIONAL LIBRARIANS

 

 

Warren Gray, Director of Library Services, has an MLIS from the University of Texas (1993), as well as an MA in history from Howard University (1972).  He worked in the libraries of Austin Presbyterian Seminary and Brevard College before starting at Somerset Community College in 1994; he moved to the director’s job at Southeast in 1999.  He is responsible for acquisitions for the Harlan and Cumberland campuses; his previous employment background was mainly in social service and teaching.

 

Lisa Ahlstedt, Middlesboro/Pineville Librarian, has an MSIS from the University of Tennessee (1995), as well as an MA in English from Eastern Kentucky University (2002).  She worked part-time in the library of Pellissippi State College in Knoxville for one year before joining the staff of Southeast in 1995.  Her duties include cataloging and other technical services.

 

Ginny Norris, Whitesburg Librarian, started working for Southeast in July, 2004, just after completing her MLS from the University of Kentucky.  Prior to that, she worked as a professional in the libraries of the University of Kentucky and the University of New Mexico, as well as a public library, for a total of six years, and she also worked with a social service agency for four years.  She has general responsibility for the operation of the Whitesburg campus library, including the supervision of one employee. 

 

Lynn Cox, Cumberland Assistant Librarian, has an MLS from the University of Kentucky (1994).  She has worked at Southeast since 1995; her duties include cataloging for the Cumberland and Harlan campuses, inter-library loan, reference, library instruction, and webpage design.  She coordinates several functions across all campuses.

 

Kevin Murphy, Middlesboro Librarian, has an MLS from the University of Kentucky (1995).  He came to work for Southeast in 1997, and he directs the Middlesboro campus, supervising one employee, with particular responsibility for acquisitions, the budget,and library instruction.
