Determine (a) primary area of student interest, and (b) transfer colleges as basis for building transfer curriculum

Develop questionnaire; Survey all students with a transfer major code concerning their plans for transfer

Collect catalogs from all 4-yr institutions and place in library for student use; Inform students and faculty/advisers of catalog availability

Criteria for assessment

Record number of surveys sent and number returned; Tabulate results; Share findings with academic dean & division chairs

Record number of catalogs on file in each library; Determine from check-out forms extent to which catalogs are used by students and faculty

To provide Technical Programs, based on local, regional, and state employment needs, for students who seek immediate employment upon graduation.

Priority initiative

Emphasize importance of General Education Block Transfer Policy and need for students to complete Associate Degree

Build on existing relationship with Hazard CC to offer joint programs in specific fields on regional basis

Actions/ implementation

Admissions Office will identify transfer students by Major Code and input CPI Codes as outlined in Senate Bill 198

Registrar will meet with representatives of Hazard CC regularly to ensure that course work is transferred on timely basis & that students enrolled in a joint program do not have problems at graduation

At midterm of each semester, all students with a transfer major-code will be reviewed for CPI code

Number of students enrolled in a joint program(s) and number of graduates in these program(s)

To provide adequate academic and support services so that students have realistic opportunities for successful attainment of their educational goals.

To provide Technical Programs, based on local , regional, and state employment needs, for students who seek immediate employment upon graduation.

Implement improved identification system for disabled students

Work cooperatively with Kentucky Tech institutions in the college service area to offer joint and/or 1+1 programs whenever possible

Actions/ implementation

Input data in student file of all Voc-Rehab forms completed in Financial Aid office; Disseminate information to faculty & staff each semester

Registrar to meet with Kentucky Tech representatives twice each semester (beginning Spring 1998) to ensure that course work is articulated with ease to community college
