MONTHLY TUITION PAYMENTS

Southeast Community College is pleased to offer the FACTS Tuition Payment Plan to enable you to more easily afford your education expenses.

You may make payments by either automatic bank payments or by charging payments to your Visa or Mastercard. Because FACTS is not a loan program, there is no debt incurred, no credit search, and there is no interest or finance charges assessed by FACTS on the unpaid balance. FACTS charges a $25.00 per semester nonrefundable fee to enroll and participate in its program.

HOW FACTS WORKS

Using FACTS is simple. Just complete and sign the FACTS tuition payment agreement form located on the reverse side of this brochure. You may budget your tuition and fees one of two ways:

A. Automatic Bank Payment (ACH) - ACH payments are those payments you have authorized FACTS to process directly with your financial institution. It is simply a bank-to-bank transfer of funds that you have preapproved for your expenses at Southeast Community College. Payments may be made from either your checking or savings account. Payments are processed on the 20th of each month and will continue until the balance due the college is paid in full.

B. Credit Card Option - Many students and families have requested the option of charging their monthly tuition payment to Visa or MasterCard. This enables you to take advantage of various bonus programs offered by your credit card company. Payments will be charged on the 20th of each month until the balance is paid in full.

NOTE: Should an ACH or credit card pavment be missed, a $25 missed payment fee will be automatically assessed to your account. You will be notified by FACTS of the missed payment via mail.

PAYMENT SCHEDULE

If your completed FACTS agreement is received by Southeast Community College on or before:

FALL SEMESTER

June 23
No down payment required. 4 payments, July through October.
July 27
25% down payment required. 3 payments, August through October.
August 24
50% down payment required. 2 payments, September and October.

SPRING SEMESTER

November 24 No down payment required. 4 payments, December through March.
December 26 25% down payment required. 3 payments, January through March.
January 25 50% down payment required. 2 payments, February and March.

DOWN PAYMENT INFORMATION

If you are making a down payment, please make checks payable to Southeast Community College. Please do not send a check to FACTS for your down payment.

COMPLETING THE FACTS AGREEMENT

The FACTS Agreement Form has been included on the reverse side of this brochure.

1. If you have been awarded financial aid, make sure it has been confirmed by the Financial Aid Office of Southeast Community College.

2. Complete the FACTS Agreement by following these easy steps:

a. Institution Information: Select the term for which you will be attending. Enter student name, student's ID number, and e-mail address.

b. Personal Information: Enter the name, address, phone numbers, and e-mail address for the person responsible for paying the tuition.

c. Bank/Credit Card Information: Complete section 3 of the agreement form. Remember to include a voided check or savings deposit slip and all bank information requested. Be sure to indicate checking or savings account. If using a credit card, do not use a Debit/ATM card. Please remember only Visa and Mastercard are accepted.

3. Amount to be paid through FACTS is the total amount you wish to budget and the number of payments. The amount of each payment is determined by dividing the total balance due by the number of payments.

4. Attach a voided check (if using a checking account), or savings deposit slip (if using a savings account), to the FACTS Agreement Form at the upper left corner. The person responsible for paying the tuition must sign the agreement form and return the form to your Southeast Community College campus Cashiers Office. The college will forward the form to FACTS for processing, and FACTS will confirm your arrangement by mail.

COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT FACTS

1. If payments are made automatically from my bank account, does that mean FACTS or the college has direct access to my account?

No. This is a common misconception about automatic payments. No one other than your own financial institution and you ever sees or has access to your account. When you arrange to have an automatic payment through FACTS, you have authorized a specific payment amount to be paid on a specific date.

2. When will payments begin?

After your agreement is received by FACTS, a letter will be sent confirming the monthly payment amount and when the payment begins. Payments will be processed on the same date each month until the total balance is paid in full. The letter will also serve as a reminder that a $25 per semester nonrefundable enrollment fee will be processed from the account indicated on the agreement form.

3. What if I miss a payment?

If you miss a payment, you will receive a letter from FACTS with instructions on how the missed payment will be handled. A $25 missed payment fee will be assessed for each missed payment attempt. This fee is charged by FACTS to offset the fees assessed by the bank when your payment is missed.

4. Can I make changes to my budget plan?

Yes. Contact your Southeast Community College campus Cashiers Office, to determine what type of changes can be made to your account. Any changes must be approved 10 days before the payment date.
